Humorless?

Today’s musings:

  • CNN’s Jack Cafferty called The Denver Group “humorless” after they took out a full-page ad “demanding” that Sen. Clinton’s name be placed in nomination and “demanding” that speeches supporting her be allowed at the convention in Denver. But wait, it gets better. Cafferty writes:

“They say their effort is about respect. Baloney. In their heart of hearts, what they really want is to wrestle the nomination away from Barack Obama. They won’t be able to do it, but in the process of trying, they can go a long way toward diminishing the historic nature of Obama’s achievement, disrupting the convention, taking the spotlight away from the nominee, and slowing his momentum going into November. Is this what they call party unity?”

So now, because we believe another candidate is far more qualified to represent the party in November, we’re being accused of “diminishing the historic nature of Obama’s achievement.” What about the historic nature of Hillary’s achievement, Jack? And if the DNC is all about unity, how do they get away with stealing votes Hillary earned and donating them to Obama’s cause? Where is the media uproar about that Saturday afternoon massacre?

  • BetUS.com has released its current odds for vice presidential candidate: Hillary Clinton 8/1; Bill Richardson 10/1; Ted Strickland 50/1; Kathleen Sebelius 7/1; Evan Bayh 7/5; Wesley Clark 15/1; Joseph Biden 13/2; Christopher Dodd 8/1; Jim Webb 40/1; Michael Bloomberg 45/1; Al Gore 25/1; Mark Warner 25/1; Janet Napolitano 35/1; Ed Rendell 25/1; Sam Nunn 18/1; Tim Kaine 7/5; Brian Schweitzer 30/1
  • So I find it curious that a bunch of Clinton campaign memos have been leaked at this time. Convenient way to badmouth her even further in the media, eh? The analysts say they show she is indecisive. If I were in the Obama camp, I’d sure love that message to get out now when the VP selection is about to be announced. And when a woman isn’t chosen, they can say, see how indecisive she was. I dunno, the fact that she didn’t go with the un-American nonsense her strategist Mark Penn urged her to use against Obama shows me she’s very capable of making good decisions.
